Friends-
The beauty of solar is that once you have made your initial capital investment, the fuel is free--and you can enjoy productive power for decades to come. Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the Vote Solar Team. Staff need to be paid, and they seem to run better on cash than sunlight.
So we threw a fundraising party. Check out pics of the good times here.
We especially wish to thank our sponsors:
Gigawatt Sponsors: Sunpower and PG&E
Megawatt Sponsors: 11th Hour Project, Recurrent Energy, SunEdison, Suntech, MMA Renewable Ventures, Solaria, Applied Materials, Chevron Energy Solutions, and Lazard.
Kilowatt Sponsors: SolFocus, SunRun, Optisolar, EI Solutions, BP Solar, Ausra, Mitsubishi Electric, PVT Solar, Kaco, SolarCity, and Sungevity.
Artistry and entertainment by Project Bandaloop, fine wine from Frey, Five Vinters, and Kent Rasmussen Winery. Lodging courtesy the Orchard Garden Hotel. Shaun said it was quite nice.
For those that got caught up in the enthusiasm and made promises of the monetary sort, you can follow-through here.
Having the heart and soul of the solar industry in one room was not only a lot of fun, but also an honor. And we really appreciate all the support.
Missouri
Know why they call Missouri the 'Show Me' state? We neither. What we do know is that our friends at Renew Missouri are trying to show the state some renewable energy. They've written language for a 15% renewable portfolio standard--with a critical solar carve-out--and in order to get it on the ballot in November, they need to collect 150,000 signatures by May 4. It's an important battle to get some solar in the heartland, so if you can, donate your time or money here.
