ActForChange and Working Assets are proud to bring you an urgent alert from our friends at the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD), calling on representatives in Congress to step up and co-sponsor Rep. Waxman's Safe Climate Act of 2007. I urge you to visit the CBD site using the links below and take action today.

Ask Your Representative to Co-Sponsor the Safe Climate Act
Global warming and related ecological changes threaten plants and animals worldwide. Arctic species like polar bears and Antarctic species like the Emperor penguin are experiencing rapid melting of their sea ice habitats.
The ice is melting due to global warming, fueled by greenhouse gas emissions.
If greenhouse gas emissions are not soon greatly reduced, 33 percent of the world's species, including polar bears and penguins, may be doomed to extinction by the year 2050.
It's time to take a stand for penguins and polar bears! Tell Congress to support the Safe Climate Act.
The Safe Climate Act would reduce greenhouse gas pollution to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. The bill also emphasizes renewable energy, energy efficiency and cleaner cars that produce less greenhouse gas emissions.
We need your help in convincing Congress that the Safe Climate Act is the proper legislation for protecting wildlife from the growing threat of global warming.
Send a letter to your Representative today. Penguins and polar bears will thank you!
Thank you for working to build a better world.
